Katherine Stagg – Mortgage Advice Hub

I began my career in the mortgage world back in 2007. My husband was working away, and my children were so young, albeit I decided to take the plunge and study for CeMAP!

It took months of many late night studying, whilst the children were asleep, but the hard work and dedication paid off, and I secured my first role as a qualified mortgage adviser at an estate agents in Sheffield, where I worked for over 10 years. Now I work as a broker at the Mortgage Advice Hub which has been almost 18 months.

I am passionate about my profession and I strongly believe my client’s journey and experience is the most important part of the process.  I ensure I am there helping them every step of the way to their goal – getting the keys in their hands for their dream home!

I always make sure I secure the best outcome in every given situation and in this current pandemic we are in, this is challenging as we know. We all have to work extra hard to place cases to get the same outcome for our clients.  I strive to make sure I get the right option for my clients circumstances and not the easiest. This does come at a price, most days leaving home at 7am and not returning until 7pm!

The anxiety pressures of the job can be challenging at times!  We all have experienced the dreaded HSBC days, trying to secure a 90% DIP and application at the crack of dawn!  I can remember crying every day until finally managing to secure on day 8 for a particular client, but now seeing them in their dream home made it all worth the while.

I will not let a pandemic stop me, last month was my best to date, writing over £20k of business.  I am so proud of what I have accomplished in the past year, so being nominated for this award is an amazing achievement for me and makes it all worthwhile to be recognised for all the commitment I put in.

The proof of all our great efforts are reflected in my reviews and recommendations on Google and Facebook, which I am immensely proud of.

I work alongside two amazing administrators that make this all possible, Lilly and Hollie.  I strive to make sure it is a happy and enjoyable environment for us all to come to work.  They are both in our Training Academy and in time will be great mortgage advisors themselves which I support them with their training and learning also.

I love working at the Mortgage Advice Hub & I am grateful for the opportunities presented to me by the Director Craig, such as supporting me with a great website and the lead generation system we use.  His leadership has enabled me to see the bigger picture of the mortgage Industry & the exciting things to come!
