Communication and consistency are two of the most important factors in the lender / intermediary relationship and we constantly review what we are saying, how we are saying it and ensuring that we deliver our messages to relevant intermediary audiences.

We go to great lengths to support our intermediary partners by way of informational structures and communications. We are always keen to assist and educate them as much as we can. As part of our marketing mix, this year we held a series of highly successful webinars based on two pillars of thought.

Firstly, we held a series of webinars on the economy hosted by our CEO John Goodall in conversation with eminent economists hearing their view on the housing and mortgage markets and the economy in general. The second series was on the day-to-day life of buy-to-let lending and the mortgage industry.

The webinars started off in January with “The BTL market: Why this lockdown is different?Landbay’s CEO John Goodall and Tony Ward, Chairman and mortgage funding expert discussed the economy, buy-to-let and the housing market, hosted by Robyn Hall of Mortgage Introducer.

This set in motion a series of economic webinars with the first entitled “Outlook for the economy & the housing market” featuring David Smith, Economics Editor of The Sunday Times. This was an in-depth discussion about how the economy could affect brokers and their clients with a focus on buy-to-let and the UK housing sector.

Webinar number two looked beyond the pandemic and asked: “Where will the housing market go from here?” In this exclusive session we heard from Professor David Miles CBE, ex-member of the Monetary Policy Committee for the Bank of England and former Chief UK Economist for Morgan Stanley. He offered an insightful view of the future to which one viewer commented: “Landbay takes webinars to another level.”

The third economic webinar, “The UK economy: bounce back or boom?” secured the views of Simon French, Chief Economist at merchant bank Panmure Gordon and writer for The Times. He discussed the UK economy and offered his predictions for the coming months.

In addition, our more general, informative webinars included “Supporting International Women’s Day”. Hosted by Naomi Braisby, Head of HR at Landbay, three exceptional women told their stories: Ade Rawcliffe, Group Director of Diversity and Inclusion at ITV; Loretta Cusack, Doyle, 8th Dan British Judo Champion; and Claire Lish, HR Director at Pepper UK.

We also held an “Underwriting surgery: Improving your success rate with BTL underwriting”. Our most recent venture last month was “The future of green buy-to-let mortgages” and we were the first lender to run a webinar on this important topic.

All of our webinars have been extremely popular, with registration figures reaching over 800 industry members, including some of our peer group competitors.

We regularly ask our intermediary partners as to what type of information they require, together with what regularity they would like to see it and in what format, for example, blog, press article etc. We get a wide mix of views, which is of course healthy and very interesting for us. We will continue to provide information and communication that is topical and helpful to intermediaries and keep our content fresh and exciting.

If you feel we deserve your vote, we would be very happy to accept it. Thank you.
